ABOUT THE PRESENTERS:

THE BLOGGING TEAM AT LIBRARY GARDEN

 

Peter Bromberg is the Assistant Director for the South Jersey Regional Library Cooperative in Gibbsboro, NJ where he provides continuing education opportunities to over 600 libraries in South Jersey, and helps oversee the QandANJ virtual reference project.   He has been a trainer and curriculum developer for New Jersey’s Super Library Supervisor and Train-the-Trainer programs, and has been very active in the American Library Association's Continuing Education Netwok and Exchange Round Table (CLENE).  Peter's work experience includes public, special, law, and young adult librarianship.  He has also twice worked as sales associate for Nordstrom where he learned that customer service is a good thing. 

 

 

Janie Hermann is the Program Coordinator and Technology Training Librarian at Princeton Public Library. Prior to coming to Princeton, Janie worked as an academic librarian in upstate NY and a middle school teacher in Canada. In addition to blogging, Janie is a moderator at WebJunction and an active member of several ALA committees. Janie is the founder of Tuesday Technology Talks here at Princeton PL, a frequent presenter at conferences and workshops, and was recently selected a Library Journal Mover and Shaker for the work that she has done in creating the current PPL Tech Center Training Program.

 

 

Amy Kearns is the Program Coordinator for CJRLC.  Before that she worked at the Clifton Public Library and at the Paterson Free Public Library.  Amy is very involved with NJLA and is currently the Vice President of the NJLA Information Technologies Section.  Amy is interested in distance learning and has been conducting webinars for WebJunction under the Spanish Language Outreach Program.  She is also completing her Synchronous Learning Expert Certification and is very interested in bringing virtual meetings and trainings to NJ libraries. She is a knitter but she is not a cat person.

 

 

Robert J. Lackie is an Associate Professor-Librarian at Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, where he co-leads the Library Instruction Program. He has taught various business communications, English composition, public speaking, and library & Web research courses & seminars, and he has provided hundreds of library instruction sessions within many academic disciplines, in addition to serving as Rider’s Faculty-in-Residence from 1998-2002. A frequent presenter at local, state, & national conferences, his scholarly interests include learning & teaching styles, librarian/teaching faculty collaboration, Web & database research methods, and Web 2.0 integration in libraries & schools.

 

Marie L. Radford, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor at Rutgers, SCILS. Prior to this, she was Acting Dean at Pratt Institute. She holds a Ph.D. (Rutgers) and an MSLS (Syracuse). She's also been a school media specialist and academic librarian in NJ. Her research interests are: interpersonal communication in reference (traditional and digital), e-resources, cultural studies, and librarian stereotypes. She's done numerous workshops on topics such as time management and service excellence in libraries.

 

 

Tyler Rousseau is a Young Adult Librarian at the Lakewood Branch of the Ocean County Library system.   He has been dubbed a "Tech-Geek" by fellow members of the Information Technologies section of the NJLA and Tyler thinks they are probably right.  His interests include Podcasting, Blogging, Social Networks, and how teens use libraries.  He recently had the honor of being asked to finish writing John Iliff's chapter on Podcasting in LITA's upcoming publication.  Ty also blogs under the name of The Rock & Roll Librarian.  He is a guitarist, singer, bassist and has recorded many originals.  If interested, you can listen to some of Ty's music at www.myspace.com/rooso.
